What is folk herbalism?

Folk herbalism is a practical, community-centered approach to working with plants for everyday care and well-being.

It emphasizes resourcefulness, using what’s locally available, and learning through direct relationship with plants rather than relying on formal institutions or complex formulas.

Rooted in ancestral knowledge and lived experience, folk herbalism is about making simple, accessible remedies that connect us to the land, our bodies, and our communities.

Who is this program for?

This program is for those who want to develop a hands-on, resourceful approach to herbalism, whether they are beginners or experienced herbalists looking to deepen their practice.

It’s designed for people who value working with the plants around them, learning through direct experience, and engaging with herbalism in a way that is practical, culturally aware, and community-centered.

This is especially for those seeking something more than clinical herbalism, instead wanting to build a relationship-based practice rooted in everyday life, ancestral knowledge, and accessible care.

If you’re drawn to making your own remedies, understanding the land you live on, and approaching herbalism with curiosity, integrity, and a commitment to accessibility, this program is for you.
